The statues depicted on this website are all images of Kuan Yin, Chinese Bodhisattva (Goddess) of Compassion. My healing practice is dedicated to Kuan Yin, because I believe that all those who have suffered trauma need compassion, both from within and from others.
Kuan Yin (also spelled Guan Yin, Quan Yin, Kwan Yin) originated as the Buddhist Sanskrit Avalokitesvara, a male Bodhisattva. Her full Chinese name, Guan Shih Yin, means Hearer of the Cries of the World. In Japan, she is called Kannon. In Tibet, she is known as Green Tara. All over the world, she is revered as a protector, role model, and refuge.
